Mo & Christine
With a leaky garage roof and a pair of porches in need of TLC at their Caversham home, Mo and Christine called in Rooftek Advance, on a neighbour’s recommendation and found them to be trustworthy, professional, and unfailingly polite. Here they explain more:
“It was only a small leak,” began Christine. “But we’ve been in the house for 25 years and never done the roof, so we thought we’d better do it, and at the same time, we have porches front and back and the fascia needed doing.
“Rooftek were the first people we asked to come and give us a quote because a neighbour had used them. Leigh Halabi came and spent a lot of time here, explaining what he was doing, but when the quote came in, it was quite high. Getting other quotes was interesting, some were a lot lower and then we spent ages between when we were first quoted and deciding.
Mo added: “We came across the Rooftek office by accident, we didn’t know they had an office and we just popped in and asked if they could come and talk to us again. Christine was saying it was good they had an office, in case there were any issues afterwards. It was reassuring.
“When we popped in and asked if they could come and talk to us again, Leigh quickly called back and came around to discuss the project. They were always good at getting back to us. Whereas some of those we asked for quotes wouldn’t bother, or they’d throw a ladder up, jump on the roof and be done in five minutes. We had one ask if I could take some photos and measurements!
Christine said: “Rooftek has many people in different jobs to do with the roof, which they can bring together and did. They're all really good workers, just really, really good blokes. Even the scaffolding guys were really nice; you know, we’ve had scaffolding put up before and you're scared to go out there. These guys would knock on the door, you know, and they'd wait till eight o'clock in the morning, they didn't start rattling around before.
Mo again: “They are a big team and come and just get on with it, working incredibly hard. Leigh has chosen the right team; we've had neighbours here that had people working on their roofs, they’d had radios loud all the time while they're working. Rooftek’s team didn't put any radios on, and they were very careful to clear up after themselves. I mean, it sounds a bit silly, but it's really annoying if you got to work, you don't really want their radio blasting.
“At one point the cement work was a little delayed and when Leigh was doing his rounds, always different times on different days, he saw that something was going a little bit slower than it should have been, which was going to delay something else happening. He got somebody from another job and sent them to help, solving the problem and being proactive about it. And not just: ‘Oh, well, that guy didn't turn up today.’
“Initially we thought the quote was high, but to be honest, if you're going to spend money on your roof, you just want it done properly. The thing is that with others that might have been cheaper. I mean, sometimes you're not sure if you're going find them again. I know that next door, had some work done and when there were problems and they tried to get them back again, they just don't pick up their phone and just disappeared.
“I would definitely recommend Rooftek because you just don't have to worry about bad workmanship you don't have to worry that if we do have any problem at all Leigh will be here tomorrow, you know, or maybe even the same day you call him because he gets things done.”
